NATURAL GAS:
Natural gas is the most common fuel used with our fire pits. They are designed to operate on the following gas pressure: 7” WC (¼ PSI / 4 oz). If your gas service is at a higher pressure, a regulator will need to be added to ensure proper function of the fire pit. Please reach out to us if you require a regulator.
PROPANE:
Propane fire pits require a special air mixer that allows the flame to burn bright and orange. If you choose propane, this mixer will come already installed and ready to go. Required pressure: 7” WC (¼ PSI / 4 oz).
There are a few different ways to set up our fire pits to run on propane:
Option A: Uses a hard-piped propane source in the same way that natural gas is used. A permanent pipe is installed underground to the fire pit location. If your home appliances run on propane, this is a likely scenario for you. Simply select Propane and your fire pit will come ready to connect to an existing stubbed pipe.
Option B: Uses a standard 20 pound, removable propane tank hidden inside the fire pit unit itself. If you do not have a hard-piped source of propane or natural gas, this could be a great option for you. Choose from one of our special “Hidden Tank” models. Hidden tank models are 21” tall in order to accommodate the propane tank. Please note that the tank is not included, but tanks are widely available from grocery stores, home improvement centers, and convenience stores.
Option C: Uses a portable tank that sits adjacent to the fire pit and is connected by a flexible fuel hose. The hose enters the fire pit through the space in the toe-kick or is piped underground. Be sure to choose a model that includes a toe-kick. With this option, the fire pit remains at the standard 15” tall and the tank is not stored inside the fire pit.
