Planters come standard without bottom pans (open bottom). Open bottom planters are perfect for placing out in the landscape where they sit on soil or gravel where water can drain naturally.
If your planters will be placed on a hardscape surface like a deck or patio, they will need bottom pans to keep the soil and water from leaking out. The pans are welded in place and sealed to prevent water leakage. Pans include drainage fittings (3/4" female threaded couplers) that allow you to direct the draining water as desired. Sealed irrigation sleeves (1" x 1" square tube) are also included that allow you to run irrigation tubes into the planter from below without spilling any soil. Pans are installed 14" below the rim of the planter unless otherwise specified by you. Reach out to us with questions.
