Surface Preparation
To avoid settling, planters must be placed on a solid or compacted surface. Acceptable finished surfaces include compacted soil, gravel, pavers, stone, concrete, tile, decking, etc. Please note that planters made from rusted steel will likely stain adjacent hardscape surfaces. Planters come with or without bottom pans. When placed out in the landscape (on soil or gravel), planters with open bottoms are preferred. Planters placed on hardscape surfaces or decking require bottom pans to prevent fill soil from coming out. Bottom pans include irrigation sleeves and drainage fittings. Please verify that the planters ordered have the appropriate bottom specifications for their particular locations.
